Cure 2X Intensive Cream | Korean Skincare Haul Part 1

Hello everyone! It’s been a long while since I have updated this blog and I just miss writing out my thoughts again so here I am with a skincare haul and Korean skincare review. I have recently ordered stuff from stylekorean.jp last month and my parcel came a little late because of this Corona Virus situation and it was a week-long holiday in Japan. I ordered my stuff April 28th and I received them on the 15th of May. Nevertheless, it was a very smooth transaction and they packed each products individually with bubble wrap to ensure that no product gets damaged while shipping since all their products are from Korea. I think it is also why their products are way way cheaper compared to other shops here in Japan. To think that it was just an online store that I stumbled upon on Instagram, I never thought that I’d get this excited to order bunch of other stuff again because of how cheap and good their customer service is.

Wow, that was a long intro. Just to let you know, I was not sponsored and all the stuff you will see here are stuff that I bought from my my own pocket so expect the reviews to be real 😉

First product is CURE Intensive 2X Cream. It is a type of Aloe gel perfect for dry skin. The scent is very fresh with a hint of alcohol. I have been using this cream for my nighttime skincare routine since I find the cream a little bit on the thick side. I put it on my nose, chin and the area around my mouth because that is where I tend to really get dry. I still notice a bit of dryness in the morning when I wake up but it has lessened a little.

Since I have read somewhere that products with Aloe should be placed in a cool area so that you will feel refreshed after putting it on your skin, my dumbass went and stored it inside the fridge the whole day and the next night, by the time I use it, it had solidified into a candle-like texture and I just can’t scoop it out. Also, this product doesn't come with a spatula so if you are planning to buy this, have
a spare of mini-spatula around or if you’re okay with just using your finger, I recommend washing your hand well before doing your skincare.

Overall, think this is a good product perfect for people with dry skin like me. The change in my skin was not that drastic but it did help with my dry spots and the red areas around my nose and mouth. I tend to use this as the last step on my skincare routine because of its thick consistency. I think other products doesn’t penetrate well on my skin anymore if I use it after this cream - it’s that thick. Also, please do not do the same mistake that I did in putting this jar inside the fridge, lol. Just keep it in a room temperature away from direct sunlight.

If you are looking for a very viscous moisturizer with a cooling effect, definitely try this one out! I bought it on sale for ¥890 from the original price of ¥4500! At first I was in doubt on why this product became very cheap so I mentally prepared myself that maybe this product is nearing its expiration date but boy was I wrong! The expiration date is still 2 years from now so I’m pretty sure I’d just be left with the glass bottle of this product by then.
So considering the price of this product, I think it was a pretty good deal. However, if it wasn’t on sale, I think this product is too expensive for its price considering that I have tried other low-end moisturizers and was amazed by the results. All in all, I think this is a great product for people with dry skin (but def consult your doctor first before using this product or apply it on the back of your ear first to check if your skin is sensitive to the ingredients on this product).
Rating is: 6/10

Watch out for the part 2 of this skincare review series! Next will be Dr. Jart’s Calming Cicapair Cream. Thank you for reading!

Paving My Way to Year 3

I'm done with my 2nd year of College! (Well, not really because I still have 3 remaining exams) but who cares) 2nd Year College was a rollercoaster of emotions but majority of it was my usual face (-__-) I should really fix my expressionless face. Anyway, summer is coming soon and for everyone, it means vacation and beaches and happiness but for me, it's summer job and endless thoughts of giving up on life in general. This year I learned a lot. Like how important is being an open-minded person and how it means to a person if their opinion is actually given a damn.

This year, I had a teacher fir my Religion subject. She's basically a homophobic, narrow-minded hitch who thinks everyone's opinions are stupid. Her hobbies include embarassing her students in front of the whole class and repeating how she has 27 boyfriends throughout her college life. Every hour of her class, I internally do a non-stop eyeroll, it's a miracle that my internal eyes are still not impaired. She imposes rules and the number one law-breaker is the maker herself. I really think she should question her choice of the subject she is teaching. Her grammar is absolutely, wonderfully incomprehensible.

She taught me that this world needs more open-minded people. That not just because a person acts and talks differently from you doesn't make them less of a person. If their way of thinking is different from you, it doesn't mean that they are dumb. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It is a must to think first before doing anything because you might nit know that the words coming from you can affect a person for the rest of their life.

I think it's nice how we really learn from everyone - even from our sworn enemy. Life really does amazing things. Even from our sins, we learn. That is why we should all continue to do whatever we want and not live life in a 'playing safe' way because life isn't meant to be lived that way! Learn to have fun at the same, take into consideration the people around you - you're not the only one living in this world.

4 Days Post-New Year Resolutions

It's one of those rare moments when I write the content before writing the title, because I honestly have no idea what the main point of this post will be all about.

Yep, I'm already eighteen. Currently in my second year, second semester in college. Everyday, I always feel myself being lazy as ever. It's 2016 already and my habits are still unchanged. I feel bad about it, but what makes it worse is that I know myself that I don't make any effort to be better. All these futile efforts to change doesn't really do much because I, myself, isn't ready to change. Now that I've hit this part of the page, I think I already know what this post will be all about. I think I fail as a human to sort out my New Year's Resolution before New Year but meh, whatever, I'd do it now; I will write my New Year's Resolution 4 days after New Year (because that's how I roll)

1.) It may seem hard to believe, (and upon writing, it is still hard to believe that these words are coming out of me like whO AM I AM I POSSESED HALP ME) but I will lessen my cheating during exams

don't judge me; i am a normal college student who sometimes copy others' answers during exams

2.) Never be late again
Did you know that I missed out one of my exams because I arrived 2 hours late? I am still praying I won't fail because of that missed exam /sigh

3.) Never lie again
I'm not even gonna bs this, yes, I do lie. I think I did lies in all colors and intensity and I confessed on those during Christmas eve. I did penance and I do not want to sin again so yeah, less lying.

4.) Speak words that will never hurt
Sometimes I got to be mindful of all the stuff I'm saying because I swear I talk non-stop and without filter.

5.) Go to church always
Because prayer is best done inside the church

6.) DO NOT BE LAZY ANYMORE!! LESS CELLPHONE TIME

Aaaaaaaand that's it! You all should do your New Year's Resolution, too, who cares if it's 4 days or 4 months after New Year? If you wanna change something, start now.

The Day Before I Turn 18

Wow, it's been 18 years!? Scary how time flies so fast. From the fat kid who loves to eat McDonald's all day, I've turned into a fat teen who still loves to eat McDonald's all day.  I've made a lot of fucked up and compulsive decisions in life yet here I am, still not in prison because I'm not legal yet. From now on, it will be a constant struggle to continually do fucked up and compulsive decisions without getting caught.
Why are we even so afraid of prison? When you're writing a journal entry the day before you turn 18, you slowly start to realize how your comfort zone is the prison that bonds you with pleasures within your reach. The day you turn 18, there's this prison, the keeper of law, that's preventing you from doing things outside of your previous prison.
Why are we even associating happiness with breaking the rules? Because our mind is set to think that way. Doing mundane things bores us so much, we always try to find ways to thrill our nerves, to heighten our senses, to feel that rush of adrenaline.
Why are we even correlating the term 'thrill' with adventures that can risk our lives? Because people's definition of adventure is 'danger'. But have you not experienced seeing a bird hatching from its shell? The thrill you get when you see the egg slowly crack and turn into life. As a child, have you not seen an airplane from your bedroom window? The trail of light slowly making its way to their destined place. You ever had a crush or a person you can't get out of your mind? Every millisecond you see their face, that pang in your heart, isn't that what thrill is all about?

You see, there are different ways on how to be happy.

The key is appreciating every little things around you.

Be contented. And always seek to be better.

In terms of emotions, feelings and mind. Always seek to be better.

Denim + Lace

This post was made to inform everyone that in a girl's closet, denim is a must. Recently, we had a photoshoot for our project and we were asked to wear something denim in our outfit.

On the day of the shoot, most of the people were wearing high waisted pants and shorts. Good thing, no one shared the same outfit as me! Well, as the saying goes, in order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different - or smth like that.

The outcome of the photoshoot was good. I personally think that the pictures were too bright and sharp but it would be okay with a little touch of Photoshop.

Also, this was my first photoshoot experience (hence the all smiling pictures) my classmates were so fierce-looking and everyone seemed very pro with what angle and pose to do TT.TT

Anyway, I really enjoyed this experience and I hope that next time, I will be able to share good pictures with everyone!

The second semester of my first year in college is tiring. I kind of missed blogging so here I am again. I changed my name, btw. From thefashionpotato to hazelaiko. A lot of things have happened in a span of 2 months (since my last blog entry) and now, I don't even know where to start.

Okay, so I just opened my window and it smells like porridge outside?? /le random

I've already finished doing all of my assignments so I'll just write here. I have a lot of blog ideas but I. LACK. TIME. AND. MOTIVATION. /haaalppp

August Memories

I'm officially a college student naww! I'm taking up Tourism Management at LCC - Bacolod. School's pretty fun. Except for the super strict dress code (we can't wear skirts, sandals, etc).

I haven't been able to post much recently because my iPad got stolen, huhu. Anyway, I'm back now and will be posting as often as I can.
To those unaware, yes, i play guitar. My greatest dream is to be a rocker.

With my little nephew, Dharreen.

After our school mass, we were so hungry sooo, tadah. This is my first time trying the 'taho' without any 'sago', btw.

I've been wanting to have lighters as my collection ever since I started high school.

With my classmates! MN-chan and Girl. MN is an otaku so I call her MN-chan.
My nickname is Ai-chan (Aiko is my second name) btw. It was given by my mom.

I've been a fan of paper roses ever since I was a child. It's very practical + it doesn't wilt.

Sweater weather ~

After school destination

Went bowling with my friends after taking their pictures.

But first, a mirror #ootd

Who's missing? Me.
What I like about my friends is that they make me their photographer, which is nice because I've always been fond of taking pictures rather than posing in front of the camera.

I'm here in this picture somewhere ;-)
